Are you always searching for the fairway? Consistency is the key to scoring lower. The golf club manufacturers will tell you golf is a speed and distance game. Well, that’s just not true. As a general rule, gaining 10 yards or distance means gaining 10 yards of dispersion in most cases. Playing from the fairway is going to produce a better, more predicable outcome than playing from the rough or the woods.
These days I don’t seem to have much time to watch TV, especially during the golf season. When I do have time to enjoy television, I like to watch shows like Restaurant Impossible, The Profit and Shark Tank. It wasn’t until this when I finally noticed a golf company audition on Shark Tank. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw two gentlemen in nickers walk down the hallway into the famous tank. The company, Kronos Golf had a nice audition yet the show dramatically played out as if they weren’t going to get a deal. At least until the last second when shark Robert Herjavec invested in an emotional entrepreneur Phillip Lapuz.
As a golf equipment junkie, I enjoy talking with OEM’s especially the smaller boutique brands. I believe that to be successful as a young company especially in the golf industry, you need to be diverse, unique and creative. Having a product and or service that is different provides an opportunity in the marketing and unique marketing angle. However, the customer service may be the most important and will likely make or break a company now matter how good their products may be.
