Fundamentals – How to Properly Hold a Golf Club – Part 1
How you place your hands on the golf club and your grip pressure may determine the end result of the swing more than any other variable in the swing. The grip happens to be the first thing we do and if we start with a good grip and a good foundation, we give ourselves a greater chance to hit a great shot. With an improper grip and excessive grip pressure, we are much more inclined to use the small muscles in our hands instead of initiating the backswing with our big muscles (our shoulders).
The unfortunate part of the grip is that there are so many variables and philosophies. So how should you hold the club? Watch todays video and hopefully you can find the grip that best suits your hand type and wants.
In this two part video lesson, we talk about the many variables encompassing the grip including the ten finger grip, the interlocking grip, the overlapping grip, grip pressure, clubface rotation and more.
